 New Year Celebrations 2014 –2015

Cedar Manor, with its cosy, intimate and relaxing atmosphere, is the perfect place to welcome in the New Year in the Lake District.  Originally built to a high specification as a gentleman's residence, the hotel now offers exceptional accommodation and excellent, locally-sourced food.  Family run, we look forward to celebrating with our guests in a quietly convivial manner.

Arriving any time after midday, guests are invited to wind down with complimentary tea or coffee or, if preferred, a glass of sherry, wine or beer. After settling in, the rest of the afternoon may be spent exploring the area.

The Evening on New Year's Eve will start with champagne and canapés in the lounge at 7.30pm, followed by dinner in our award-winning restaurant at 8.00pm, taken at a leisurely pace to allow plenty of time to savour each course.  Later, to round off the evening, we will serve champagne as midnight approaches to see in 2015 in traditional fashion.

New Year's Day will begin with a Cumbrian breakfast served between 9.00 and 10.00am. The rest of the day may be spent enjoying the Lakes or just relaxing around the hotel.  Tonight, dinner will be served between 6.30 and 8.30pm.

On 2 January, after a hearty breakfast served between 8.30 and 9.30am, it's time to set off for home.  Have a safe journey and carry with you our best wishes for a Happy and Successful New Year.

Our 2 day New Year's Eve break can also start on the 30th December and be extended into a 3 night stay - contact us for 3rd night rates.

Knot of Scottish salmon with a spinach & dill mousse and a pumpkin sauce 

Game Terrine with a Port infused and gingered Cumberland sauce

Melon slices with a liqueur, seasonal fruits and an Elderflower sorbet

Twice cooked goats cheese soufflé with rosemary and walnut cream




Main Course

Breast of Goosnargh Duck with fondant potato, spiced root vegetables and a honey rosemary glaze 

Fillet of Seabass with sizzled ginger, chilli and spring onions, served on coriander crab noodles 

Medallion of Venison with celeriac mousse, Parisienne potatoes, wild mushrooms and a Poivrade Sauce


Dark Chocolate tart with Grand Marnier anglaise,

 prune and Armagnac ice cream


Lavender Panacotta, honey roasted figs

and damson sorbet


Sticky Toffee Pudding with a butterscotch sauce 
and custard


A selection of local cheeses with grapes, 
celery and crackers

Booking conditions – a credit card deposit of £100 per room is required when making the reservation with the balance being paid by 1st December 2014.

We recommend that bookings are supported by holiday insurance as any cancellations will be charged the full package price unless they are re-let.
