Wine List at Cedar Manor Hotel and Restaurant

Our wine list is carefully chosen to complement the flavours and seasonality of our food. As well as an extensive choice of red, white, Champagne and dessert wines, we also serve wine by the glass or in half bottles. 1 - Finca La Colonia Malbec - £24.50

Argentina, Sweet and spicy aromas, reminiscent of black pepper. Ripe red fruit on the palate, smooth texture and a harmonious finish.

2 - Deakin Estate Shiraz - £26.50

Victoria, Australia, Good punchy Shiraz aromas of mulberry and plum, supported by hints of vanilla and coffee oak. The palate is juicy, spicy and satisfying, with a rounded finish.

3 - Merlot Terre del Noce - £23.00
Mezzacorona, Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT, Italy -  Smooth, easy-drinking Merlot with plum and red cherry fruit, and a hint of dark chocolate on the finish.


4 - Pinot Grigio Terre del Noce - £23.00
Mezzacorona, Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT, Italy - Elegant and dry with apple and banana fruit aromas, floral lift in the mouth, and a crisp finish.

5 - Deakin Estate​ Chardonnay - £26.50

Victoria, Australia, This Chardonnay shows aromas of ripe pear, nectarine and apple. The palate is ripe and smooth with delicious fruit character without being over the top.

6 - Finca La Colonia Sauvignon Blanc - £24.50

Bodega Norton, Argentina, Intense aromas of citrus, herbs and pink grapefruit. Fresh, fruity palate with an elegant dry finish.

Domaine de Beaurenard, Rhône Valley, France -  An immensely fruity nose, with spicy and balsamic notes, then great complexity on the palate: power, finesse, and an incredibly long, mineral-fresh finish.

8 - Beaujolais Villages Château des Vierres - £18.75
Duboeuf, Beaujolais, France - Attractive cherry colour with a bouquet of strawberry and blackcurrant. Smooth and well balanced.

9 - Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico - £46.00
Masi, Veneto, Italy - Bright and intense on the nose with aromas of preserved cherries and dried plums together with hints of fruits of the forest and cinnamon. Good weight from the alcohol and structured on the palate, opening out to attractive aromas of cherries and vanilla.


10 - Chablis ler Cru Vau Ligneau - £36.50
Domaine Hamelin, Burgundy, France -  Delicate, expressive nose with green apple, citrus and lily aromas. Round yet elegant on the palate, with classic minerality and a dry finish

11 - Sancerre Le Chêne - £28.50
Domaine Lucien Crochet, Loire Valley, France -  Citrus notes, particularly grapefruit, with white blossom and pear aromas. Rich, fruity palate with a mineral note on the finish

Domaine Michel Bouzerou, Burgundy, France - Refined, delicate Meursault showing smoky, nutty aromas, and then a surprisingly intense, apricotty palate. Bright and invigorating – a great example of the modern Meursault style



13 - NéPriCa (Negroamaro/Primitivo/Cabernet) - £34.00
Tormaresca, Famiglia Antinori, Puglia IGT, Italy -  Red fruits, black cherry and blackcurrant on the nose. On the palate, the spice of the Negroamaro is complemented by the juicy plum jam flavours of Primitivo, resulting in a soft and well-balanced wine.

14 - Cabernet Sauvignon Casa Lapostolle - £30.00
Rapel Valley, Chile - Powerful aromas of ripe red fruits, plums, dry figs and black spices. A soft and elegant palate.

15 - Côtes-du-Rhône Samorëns Rouge, Ferraton - £31.00

Rhône Valley, France   Medium to full-bodied, the bright, fresh charry and berry fruit is followed by a savoury earthy note.  The tannins are silky and well rounded and the finish is fresh.

16 - Beaujolais-Villages Château des Vierres​ - £34.00

Georges Duboeuf, Burgundy, France, Attractive cherry-colour with a bouquet of strawberry and blackcurrant. Smooth and well balanced.

17 - Brentino (Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon)​ - £48.00

Maculan, Veneto, Italy, A Bordeaux-style blend of fine depth and concentration, with the plums and spice of the Merlot rounding out the Cabernet’s backbone of cassis; ripe and harmonious.

18 - Passo Doble (Malbec/Corvina) - £35.50

Masi, Tupungato, Argentina - Fragrant and complex on the nose with ripe fruit aromas enhanced by notes of prune and liquorice. Up-front and powerful on the palate with hints of spice and cooked cherries with a long appetizing finish

19 - Pinot Noir Coopers Creek - £42.00
Marlborough, New Zealand - Black plums and black cherries on the nose intermingled with subtle French oak and nuances of grilled meat. Rich and firm on the palate with bold, sweet fruit. A core of ripe black cherry lingers on the finish.

20 - Château Montaiguillon - £47.00
Montagne-Saint Emilion, Bordeaux, France - Delicious flavours of cherry and plum on the palate are overlaid with cedary oak.

21 - Jorio Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Umani Ronchi - £39.00
Abruzzi, Italy Flavours of ripe plums and red cherries give way to balsamic and savoury notes. The palate  is full-bodied, with plush, velvety tannins and the finish is long and intense, with  subtle notes of liquorice and spice

22 - Conde Valdemar Rioja Reserva - £48.00
Bodegas Valdemar, Spain - Complex aromas with subtle spicy notes and ripe black fruit touches, leading to a generous, intense palate full of plums, raisins and chocolate. Beautiful balance of fruit and oak, with a long, persistent finish

23 - Guenoc California Merlot - £33.50

California, U.S.A. Sophisticated aromas of raspberry, cherry and Provençal herbs lead to a smooth, medium-full palate with notes of chocolate and an appetising dry finish.

24 - Pèppoli Chianti Classico - £47.00
Marchesi Antinori, Tuscany, Italy - Intense red fruit aromas are offest by delicate notes of vanilla and chocolate. Pleasantly lingering with a fresh, vibrant feel in the mouth.

25 - Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge Vieilles Vignes - £65.00

Burgundy, France. Pure red fruit jumps out of the glass – these old vines always provide a lovely clear expression of Pinot Noir. In the mouth, it is fairly full, with a firm structure and some spicy blackberry flavours.

Cloof, Darling, South Africa - A wine of inky concentration, with rich plum and cassis aromas, a super-juicy feel in the mouth, and notes of spice and tobacco to add lift

California, United States - Very smooth and juicy, with ripe black fruit and no hard edges – a gentle giant.



28 - Front Row Chenin Blanc/Roussanne - £24.50

Swartland, South Africa. This mix of Loire and Rhône varieties produces a wonderfully textured wine, the crisp but generous tropical flavours of Chenin Blanc complemented by the rich apricot, pear and floral character of Roussanne, finishing neat and dry.

Marlborough, New Zealand - This is absolutely classic Marlborough Sauvignon: vibrant gooseberry, passionfruit and nectarine backed with hints of herbaceousness. Impressive weight of flavour on the palate with richness and texture and a long finish.

Mezzacorona, Trentino, Italy - Very clean and nicely balanced, with a gentle floral aroma, good medium weight in the mouth and a refreshing finish

31 - Menetou-Salon La Charnivolle  - £52.00
Domaine Fournier, Loire Valley, France - Aromas of tropical fruits and herbs lead to a dry palate with pear and citrus flavours plus a hint of gooseberry. Crisp and fresh with a zesty finish

32 - Chablis  - £53.00

Domaine Hamelin, Burgundy, France, Fresh, classic nose with notes of green apple, hawthorn and minerals. Crisp on the palate while displaying good depth of flavour, and a long, dynamic finish.

33 - Revelation Viognier, Badet Clément - £29.50

Languedoc-Roussillon, France. Bursting with typical flavours of apricot and peach alongside elegant floral notes. The palate is round, with a refreshing acidity and a perfectly balanced finish.

34 - Valdemar Rioja Blanco - £27.50
Bodegas Valdemar, Spain -  Fresh, intense aromas of fruits and white flowers, dominated by apple and pear nuances. Fruity and fresh on the palate with a pleasant finish

35 - Campogrande Orvieto Classico  - £29.75
Marchesi Antinori, Umbria, Italy - The nose shows both floral and fruity notes, particularly pineapple and banana, while the palateis medium-bodied, with more fruit and a round, delicate finish

36 - Gewürztraminer Côte de Rouffach - £43.00
René Muré, France - Controlled yet expressive, this wine offers the characteristic exotic aromas of Gewürztraminer – rose petals, lychee and gingerbread – in an elegant, medium-bodied style. This is a Gewurz made for food!

37 - Passo Blanco (Pinot Grigio/Torrontés) - £31.50
Masi, Tupungato, Argentina -  Roses, orange blossom and broom on the nose as well as fruity hints of grapefruit, orange and peach. Fresh, full-bodied and well-balanced on the palate; long lasting in the mouth with a touch of lemon on the finish

Domaine J-C Châtelain, Loire Valley, France -  A lively, intense nose of green fruit, then focused minerally notes on the palate backed up by zippy citrus and some spice and mint flavours.

39 - Chardonnay Casa Lapostolle  - £30.00
Casablanca Valley, Chile - On the nose there are mineral notes and fruit aromas such as papayas, lime, and mango, with sweet spices at the end. On the palate, it is concentrated, refreshing and well-balanced, and the finish has a touch of light sweet spices.

40 - Firestone Riesling - £39.00
California, United States - Exudes flavours and aromas of green apple, lemon and lime zest, mandarin, jasmine tea and just the right amount of sweetness

41 - Vermentino di Bolgheri - £52.00
Guado al Tasso, Famiglia Antinori, Bolghieri DOC, Italy - This shows the combination of crispness and breadth that marks Vermentino, with engaging citrus flavours and a long mineral finish.



42 - Valdemar Rioja Rosado - £27.50
Bodegas Valdemar, Spain - Bright and clear in colour, with exuberant raspberry fruit and the elegant herbal finish of Garnacha.

43 - Côtes de Provence Rosé Carte Noire - £42.50
Maîtres Vignerons de St Tropez, France - Very refined dry rosé, with an attractive floral aroma, redcurrant fruit, and excellent length in the mouth.

Maculan, Veneto, Italy - An intense nose of Muscat grapes, honey and flowers leads to a vibrant palate, the sweetness balanced by freshness of flavour and a delicate mouthfeel.

45 - Chateau La Fleur d’Or - £40.00
Sauternes, Bordeaux, France -  An immediately inviting nose, combining apricot fruit, creamy patisserie notes and a certain citrus brightness, leads to a sweet yet beautifully balanced palate. Luscious but never cloying.

46 - Tokaji 5 Puttonyos - £82.00
Sauska, Tokaj, Hungary - An exceptional Tokaji, opulently flavoured yet still so fresh and youthful, with aromas of fig, honey, dried peach, marmalade and caramel. Intense sweetness is balanced by citrussy acidity; the wine finishes tangy and whistle-clean.



47 - Cá del Console Prosecco Extra Dry - £30.00

Veneto, Italy, A classic Prosecco with aromas of white peach, pear and flowers. The palate is fresh, not too dry, and clean as a whistle all the way through to the sparkling finish.

48 - Cava Brut Reserva René Barbier - £32.00

Spain, A very elegant Cava, with clean citrus on the nose, backed by soft fruit aromas of peach and melon; the palate is marked by purity and a fine mousse.

49 - Rotari Brut Metodo Classico Cuvée 28 - £35.00

Mezzacorona, Italy, Traditional-method fizz, with great depth of flavour, pure appley fruit, and a fine mousse from 28 months’ on the lees.



Drappier is considered one of the finest boutique Champagne producers in the world: this is because of the cellars where they store the wine, which are among the oldest and most extensive in Europe and also were the only cellars that weren’t damaged during the two world wars or the fires that raced through the area in the 1950s.

Champagne, France -  A Pinot Noir-based champagne of style and finesse, Carte d’Or offers delicate aromas of white peach, quince and a touch of spice. The dry, elegant palate shows a degree of concentration, along with fine bubbles and a long, crisp finish

Champagne, France -  Both fresh and opulent, this vintage champagne shows classic aromas of brioche, hazelnut and citrus, with a great creamy texture on the palate, very fine bubbles, and a long, dry finish.

53 - Champagne Drappier Rosé Brut - £78.00
Champagne, France - beautifully balanced style of rosé: elegant yet full of character. Pretty red berry aromas lead to a delicate palate of summer fruit and herbs, finishing crisply dry and refreshing.
